Add funds to your wallet

Before renting a number, you need balance in your Proxnum wallet. Open Add Funds and pick the method that suits you — cryptocurrency (USDT, BTC, LTC, BNB), Binance Pay, GCash, PIX, FPX, local cards and bank transfers by country, or M-Pesa if you are in Kenya. Most methods credit your account within minutes once payment is confirmed.

Select country, service, and order

On the Virtual Numbers or Rentals page, pick the country that matches your target platform (or use Any Country for the best availability). Then choose the service — WhatsApp, Telegram, Google, Facebook, TikTok, PayPal, Instagram, and 900+ more. Prices update in real time based on stock. When you confirm, the number is assigned instantly and appears in your dashboard.

Copy the number, verify, and read your SMS

Once your order is active, copy the phone number from your dashboard and paste it into the app or website you are verifying. Wait for the OTP — most codes arrive within 10–60 seconds, though some services take up to 5 minutes. The full SMS text and code appear live in My Numbers. For temporary orders, if nothing arrives within 21 minutes, Proxnum refunds your balance automatically. No ticket needed.

Pro tip: Keep your Proxnum dashboard open while verifying. Codes refresh in real time. Copy the code exactly — some platforms are picky about spaces or leading zeros.

Using Your Dashboard

Your Proxnum dashboard is mission control for every active number, incoming SMS, and recent order. Once you log in, everything you need for day-to-day verification lives in a few clear screens — no hunting through menus.

Dashboard overview

After logging in, you land on your main workspace. Your current balance is always visible at the top so you know when to top up. Quick links take you to Virtual Numbers for new temporary orders, Rentals for longer-term lines, and Add Funds when your wallet is low.

My Numbers — active orders & SMS

The My Numbers page (Virtual Numbers) lists every active temporary order and shows incoming SMS in real time. Each card displays the phone number, service, country, time remaining, and status (waiting, received, completed, refunded). When an SMS arrives, the full message and extracted code appear on the card — click to copy. Finished orders stay visible for reference before archiving.

  • Refresh is automatic — you do not need to reload the page for new codes.
  • Use the filter to show only waiting or completed orders when you have many active lines.
  • Temporary numbers show a countdown to the 21-minute auto-refund window.
  • Rental numbers link to the Rentals page for extensions and full history.

Active rentals appear with their expiry time, rental type (Full Lease, Universal, or Service-Targeted), and all SMS received during the lease. You can extend a rental before it expires, cancel within the early refund window, or open the full rental detail view for message history.

Balance & low-fund alerts

Enable low-balance notifications in Settings so you get an email before funds run out mid-verification. Your transaction history shows every debit and credit with timestamps — useful when reconciling API automation or team usage.

Automatic refunds

Temporary numbers auto-refund your full order amount if no SMS is received within 21 minutes. No support ticket required — balance returns automatically.

Early rental cancellation

Cancel a rental within the first 20 minutes for a full refund, provided you have not received any SMS on that number yet.

Balance & withdrawals

Unused wallet balance stays in your account for future orders. Withdrawal requests (minimum $10) can be submitted via support — processing times vary by method.

Two-factor authentication (2FA)

We strongly recommend enabling 2FA on every Proxnum account. It adds a second step at login — even if someone learns your password, they cannot access your balance or numbers without your authenticator app.

Troubleshooting

Most verification issues resolve with a small tweak — a different country, a longer wait, or the right number type. Work through the guides below before opening a ticket; each entry lists likely causes and step-by-step fixes.

Possible causes:

  • The target service is slow — some apps take up to 5 minutes
  • The number was recently used for the same service and is flagged
  • The platform blocks virtual or VoIP numbers entirely
  • Wrong country selected for a geo-restricted service
  • You entered the phone number incorrectly (missing country code)

Try these fixes:

  1. Wait the full 21 minutes — temporary numbers auto-refund if nothing arrives
  2. Order a different number or switch country (see our Countries guide)
  3. Use a Service-Targeted or Full Lease rental for strict platforms
  4. Double-check the number format includes the correct country code
  5. Open a ticket with your order ID if the issue repeats across multiple numbers

Common issues:

  • Crypto: still waiting for blockchain confirmations (10–30 min)
  • Binance Pay: proof not uploaded or amount/reference mismatch
  • M-Pesa: STK push declined, timed out, or insufficient M-Pesa balance

What to do:

This means no numbers are currently available for that country + service combination. Stock fluctuates throughout the day as numbers are used and returned.

  3. Check back in 1–2 hours — inventory refreshes regularly
  4. Switch to a rental if temporary stock is empty but rentals are available

Recovery steps:

  1. Go to the Reset Password page
  2. Enter your registered email address
  3. Check inbox and spam for the reset link (arrives within a few minutes)
  4. Create a new password (minimum 8 characters) and log in again
  5. If 2FA is enabled, have your authenticator app or recovery codes ready

Some services detect numbers that were previously used for verification on their platform. Proxnum flags these so you know before wasting time.

Solutions:

  1. Cancel if still in the refund window and request a fresh number
  2. Try a different country with less traffic on that service
  3. Use Service-Targeted rentals for WhatsApp, Telegram, and similar apps
  4. Avoid re-ordering the exact same number after a failed attempt
If the number was never used on your end, you may still qualify for a refund — check your order status or contact support.

Why strict apps fail:

  • Temporary numbers are often flagged on messaging apps
  • The app detected too many sign-ups from the same number range
  • SMS delay caused the code to expire before you entered it
  • The app expects a voice call verification instead of SMS

Recommended approach:

  1. Switch to a Service-Targeted or Full Lease rental (1 day minimum for WhatsApp)

  3. Try voice call verification if SMS fails (WhatsApp offers this option)
  4. Match country to your app store region when possible

Common API issues:

  • Invalid or revoked API key
  • Insufficient balance for the requested route
  • Polling /sms too aggressively (rate limited)
  • Rental ID from rent response not stored correctly
  • Country or service code mismatch in the request body

Fixes:

  1. Verify your API key in Profile and regenerate if needed
  2. Check balance with GET /api/v1/balance before each batch
  3. Poll every 3–5 seconds, not sub-second intervals
  4. Log the full rent response and use the correct rental ID
  5. Cross-reference country and service codes in the API documentation

What happened:

  • The rental period ended before the service sent SMS
  • You rented too short a period for a slow verification flow
  • The service sent SMS after expiry (rare, but possible)

Prevention & fixes:

  1. Choose a longer rental period for multi-step verifications
  2. Extend the rental before expiry if the option is available
  3. Use temporary numbers for quick OTP — rentals for accounts you will keep
  4. Contact support with order details if you believe the rental failed due to platform issues
