What is a rental phone number?
A rental phone number is a real mobile number that is reserved for your account for a fixed period of time. Unlike a one-time activation number, which is released after a single code, a rented number stays with you and can receive as many SMS messages as you need until the rental ends.
That makes rentals ideal when a platform sends more than one code: logging in from a new device, confirming a password reset, re-verifying after a few days, or managing an account that asks for SMS checks regularly.
How to rent a number in four steps
- Create a free Proxnum account and add funds to your balance.
- Open Buy Number and switch to the Rentals tab.
- Pick a country, the rental duration and the service you want to verify, then confirm the price.
- Your number appears instantly under Activations → Rentals. Incoming SMS show up there automatically.

Fair cancellation window
If you picked the wrong service or country, you can request cancellation of a new rental within the first 2 minutes, as long as no SMS has arrived yet. The full amount is returned to your balance as soon as the cancellation is confirmed, usually within a few minutes. After 2 minutes the number stays with your account for the period you paid for and can no longer be cancelled.

No. While your rental is active the number is assigned only to your account.
Can I make calls with a rented number?
Rental numbers are designed for receiving SMS such as verification codes. Voice calls are not supported.
